Happy New Year & 2012 in review

Happy New Year everyone!

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has visited, read, commented and followed by blog since I started in March! I hope you all have a great New Year, and I wish you all the best for 2013.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 4,200 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 7 years to get that many views.

Cupcake Queen

Today I opened the first door on my Mini Mani Month!

The first polish was Cupcake Queen. Cupcake Queen is a hot pink, with a hint of purple shimmer. Back in June, I got Jelly Bean free with Marie Claire magazine, and Cupcake Queen is almost identical to that, it was possibly just renamed when it was given away. The pictures show 3 coats.

I’m looking forward to seeing what’s behind tomorrows door, although I won’t be able to try it out until Monday. I have a very early start tomorrow, 3.45am! It’s a very long trip to Norwich, and hopefully Sunderland can win, fingers, toes, legs, eyes crossed!

Also, because of the names of a couple my recent polishes, Cupcake Queen and Fairy Cake, I had the urge to make myself some cakes, so this afternoon I had some fun making some butterfly cakes.

So, because of my ridiculously early start tomorrow, it’s the final of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, then bed for me! I’d like to sleep before that, but then I’d wake up tomorrow and I’d find out who won somewhere, and I hate it when that happens! It’s usually impossible to avoid anything because of twitter, and I just can’t stay off twitter!

Jubilee Nail Art

As it’s the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this weekend I thought it was only right that I had some Jubilee nails! I went for simple Barry M 262 Bright Red for three nails, Nails Inc Jubilee on my index finger, and painted a Union Flag on my ring finger. For this I used Nails Inc Baker Street for the base, along with Barry M 66 Matt White, and Andrea Fulerton Stripe and Sparkle Ann, perfect as it has a thin brush. It did take me a couple of hours to do the flag, I decided to use nail art tape to help me with the white, my hands aren’t steady enough to do it freehand! I was a bit disappointed that I managed to smudge the red adding a top coat though, even after I waited for it to dry, but I still love the finished result.

I also made some Jubilee cupcakes, vanilla with strawberry and vanilla icing – yum!

Hope everyone has a nice Jubilee weekend!

London

Last weekend I had a trip to London, mainly a trip for my birthday, so on Saturday I had a shopping day, Harrods, Selfridges (where I finally got to try Pinkberry – yum!) and Oxford Street. On Sunday we went to Fulham v Sunderland, Sunderland lost, but the lovely Phil Bardsley scored a brilliant goal, so it was still a good day! Then before we came home on the Monday we went to London Zoo, which was absolutely brilliant, and I’ll be posting some pictures of!

I did have a bit of a nail disaster on the way down though. This is how my nails originally started out –

From my thumb to my little finger, this is Nails Inc Warwick Avenue, Nails Inc Brompton Place, Nails Inc Power Pink (free with InStyle Magazine), Barry M 308 Berry Ice Cream, and Nails Inc Chalk Farm. I then added Models Own Indian Ocean over the top of them all and I loved it! But, about an hour and a half into my journey I chipped a little bit off my index finger. I don’t think anyone would have noticed, but it was bugging me, so the first thing I did when I went shopping was buy nail polish, remover and some cotton wool for when I got back to the hotel!

I couldn’t resist the cupcakes from Harrods, I could have bought all of them!

My favourite part of Selfridges, Christian Louboutin! I would LOVE a pair of these shoes, but I think £3500 is a bit out of my price range, but they’re beautiful!

So, onto the zoo, which was brilliant, even though I was exhausted after 3 days of walking miles around London! I’ve picked out some of my favourite pictures (very impressed with my new camera!)

I was amazed by Butterfly Paradise, having all those butterflies flying around you, and being able to get so close to take pictures, although it was a shame the prettiest ones shut their wings when they stopped flying!

I loved being so close to the spider monkeys too, it was just a shame I couldn’t stay longer to get some better pictures of them.

This was the birthday cake my dad got me, more than half has already been eaten!

Welcome to my world!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my blog. Here you’ll mainly find me talking about my nail polish addiction (my current stash stands at 116!), along with my obsession with shoes, cupcakes and football, so a very random mixture of things that I love!

This is my current collection of polish –
