Nail Polish Organisation

At the beginning of this year, I bought my first IKEA Helmer to store all my polish in. Last month, I bought a second, (mainly because I was sick of my makeup sitting in a box under my bed, which had been in my previous bedside table) but also because a couple of drawers were starting to get full. The second Helmer fits perfectly right next to my bed along side the first one, although one night I did manage to smack my head right off the corner of it in the middle of the night, ouch.

It really bugs me that the older Helmer is a slightly different colour.

This then led to swatch sticks, which has kept me busy recently! The main idea behind this was to give some love to some polishes that don’t get used, simply because I forget about them. My polish collection has also managed to sneak up to over 300 bottles! (I didn’t realise this until I was about 20 sticks short, I’ve obviously been slacking with the contact list!)

I thought I’d get bored when I was doing all this, but it was actually quite relaxing. I used post it notes to make a note of the brand, name, and how many coats of the polish, then once I was finished I used a label maker to label them properly.

Once I was done, I arranged the sticks my colour, keeping the special effects polishes, and mixed glitters separate.

How do you organise your polish collection?
