Rosie Lee

Rosie Lee is another polish from Butter London’s Sparkle, Sparkle Holiday Collection. It’s a full coverage pink glitter that only needs two coats, but it isn’t an in-your-face-barbie-pink, it’s more of a rose gold colour. Rosie Lee dries quickly, but as usual with glitters, it needs a top coat to get rid of the gritty texture.

I popped into Boots earlier, only for some eye spray, but obviously couldn’t come out without buying more nail polish… but I’m totally blaming Barry M for this one. When you spend £6 on Barry M products in Boots or Superdrug, you get a free limited edition nail polish, and there’s a choice of four, two in Boots and two in Superdrug. I chose the gold, but it took a while to decide between that and the pink! I love the glitter one too.

Has anyone else got any of the limited edition nail paints? Which is your favourite?

Tomorrow means one thing. It’s the first one December, and I can open the first door of my Mini Mani Month advent calender! Also, the Mini Mani Month is back in stock at Ciate´! Go and get it quick!

Mini Mani Month

I have ZERO willpower! I first saw Ciate´s mini mani month advent calendar on twitter a few weeks ago, but I managed to resist.  That was until Ciate´sent me an email telling me they were back in stock. I caved. I also got 10% off as it was my first order from

Here is the description from Ciate´; ‘Every girl’s diary can now be filled with a daily dose of delectable mini nail treats, as behind each door lies a very colourful surprise. Gorgeously packaged with seventeen of our bestselling mini Paint Pots, four mini Caviar blends, and three extremely special exclusive Paint Pot glitter shade’s you’ll not find anywhere else, ever. This is perfectly designed and sure to be loved by every nail enthusiast out there. All of this at the price tag of just four of our regular Paint Pots, now that is the best gift of all.’

So, thats 17 mini paint pots, 4 mini Caviar blends, 3 exclusive glitters and a Caviar mani funnel (and a partridge in a pear tree!)

Considering I already have 3 chocolate advent calendars (yes, three…) this one is a lot better for my waistline!

December can’t come quick enough!

Pluto is one of the two polishes I picked up from Topshop last week, which I spotted when I was browsing online. Pluto is a purple hex glitter suspended in clear polish. It’s very similar to Barry M’s Lavender Hexograms, minus the silver microglitter (and Barry M’s is actually square glitter, so I’m not sure why it’s called hexograms!) I wore it over Ciate´Purple Sherbet.

This was three coats, but even after that there was a very sparse areas, which I had to dab the glitter on to. Very time consuming, but I do think it was worth it, this is definitely a top coat polish though, it would take forever to layer it up fully!

Pluto is available from Topshop, and online, priced £6. They have some gorgeous colours.

I also managed to find three of the new Barry M polishes I was after today, yay! I’ll be swatching them soon, because Amethyst glitter looks absolutely stunning!

I’d love some help from fellow bloggers too, I’d love to know which indie polish (that can be shipped to the UK) you would recommend 🙂

Leopard Print

I’ve been trying to give my nails a breather this week, they’re still quite badly stained, so having them polish free was a challenge! I also broke my index finger nail. I’ve only been growing my nails properly since I started my blog, before that I always liked them short, this was my first major nail break, and I wasn’t happy! I know some people like to file all their nails down if they break one, but I just couldn’t bear it!

For the weekend I decided to have a first attempt at leopard print. I used Ciate´Purple Sherbet (one of my favourite polishes now), Nails Inc Notting Hill Gate, and Barry M 47 Black. I used my dotting tools, and I love how they turned out! I’ll definitely be doing this again, there’s endless colour combinations!

Tomorrow, the Premier League is back, and I cannot wait! I’m going down to London for Arsenal v Sunderland, and although I’m not very optimistic, I’ll be happy to have football back! The Emirates is also one of my favourite grounds, especially the padded seats. The only thing I’m not looking forward to is the early start, our bus leaves at 5.45am. The weather is expected to be around 30°c too, it’ll be like going on holiday!

I hope everyone has a nice weekend 🙂

Jelly Bean

Jelly Bean is one of the three Ciate´polishes that are free in this months Marie Claire magazine, along with Purple Sherbet and Bon Bon. I love pink, and Jelly Bean is a perfect pink, a really bright Barbie pink! It also has a blue shimmer in it, similar to Nails Inc’s Chinatown, the shimmer isn’t as visible on the nail as it is in the bottle. The polish went on really nicely, and I only needed two coats. This and Purple Sherbet are the first two Ciate´polishes I’ve tried, and I’ll definitely be using the discount code from Marie Claire!

Have you tried any of the Ciate´polishes from Marie Claire? What do you think about them? If you haven’t, there’s still time to get them before next months comes out!

Purple Sherbet

This month, Marie Claire are giving away Ciate´nail polishes with their magazine, in three shades, Purple Sherbet, Jelly Bean, and Bon Bon. Marie Claire is £3.70, although WHSmith had a 2 for £6 offer on some magazines. Ciate´polishes are usually £9, and there’s also a 25% off discount code in the magazine. I picked up Purple Sherbet and Jelly Bean. Lots of magazine seem to have great freebies this month, Glamour have a choice of 3 benefit products (I got all 3!), and in others I’ve seen Body Shop mascara and eye pencils, Leighton Denny nail polish, Jemma Kidd makeup and even a free Reiss vest, I was very tempted to pick them all up, I think the cashier might have thought I was a bit crazy though!

Purple Sherbet is the first Ciate´polish I’ve tried, although I have been tempted by them for a while, especially their Caviar Manicure, and I’ve seen lots of great reviews. First of all, I love the bottles, the little bow makes them very pretty! The colour is gorgeous too, a lovely creamy lilac, although it was quite sheer, and I needed 3 coats to cover completely.

I decided to add glitter, and created a reverse gradient glitter, using Rimmel’s Disco Ball.

Tomorrow I’m going to Liverpool for a tour of Anfield. Although I’m a Sunderland supporter, I’ve been on a few stadium tours (Camp Nou, Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge) and I love seeing parts of the stadium you don’t usually see on a match day, along with the museum parts and all the silverware! I’m definitely looking forward to touching that famous ‘This is Anfield’ sign on the walk down the tunnel!

Aqua Violet

Another from the Model’s Own Beetlejuice Collection. I can definitely say I’m in love with this collection! Aqua Violet has an almost metallic finish, and the colours were absolutely gorgeous. The only problem I had with this polish was that some brushstrokes was visible. As with Indian Ocean I’ve had to take quite a few pictures to show the colours in this polish, although the pictures don’t really show how stunning this polish is.

I can’t decide whether this or Indian Ocean is my favourite so far from the Beetlejuice Collection, I love both! I still have Purple Blue to try out, and I also want Emerald Black, which the Boots I went to didn’t have.

I discovered this the other day when I was looking around online, Ciate’s Caviar Manicure.

I love the look of this! Especially the rainbow one which looks like hundreds and thousands! Has anyone tried this? I’m very tempted to give it a go once they have them back in stock, but I’m not sure if I’d have the patience, or how long the beads would stay on!

Also, missguided got the better of me the other day!I’m a big fan of their dresses, but this time it was a jumper that got my attention.

This is another I love, but I decided to save it for next time!

One last thing, how stunning is the Michael Kors dress that Lea Michele is wearing? I love everything about it. I’m definitely going to be keeping my eye out for something similar.
