Dotted Daisies

So, over the past week we’ve had a lot of snow where I live in Durham, and today, my dad and I spent two hours shovelling the snow from the front of my house! It was a few inches thick, and because people have been walking on it for a couple of days, underneath was solid ice, so it took some breaking up, but we got there in the end! Hopefully I’ll now make it out tomorrow and not get stuck before I even get off the kerb.

I’ve been making sure the birds are well fed too, with it being hard for them to find food in the snow, I’ve had a lot of greedy visitors, and my garden is covered in bird footprints!

I’m sick of all the snow, so for my nails I decided to go with a more Spring theme, hoping it’s not too far away, wishful thinking!

I used George Cloudless Sky, a lovely creme blue, which only needed two coats, then I used acrylic paint and dotting tools for the daisies. Nothing too fancy or perfect, I like that they’re not all the same.

Excuse the tip wear, that happened about an hour after I’d painted my nails 🙁

Also, fellow nail polish addicts, Nails Inc are offering another of their lucky dips this Friday (25th January), you get 6 random polishes for £15, which are usually £11 each.

Firstly, I’d like to say congratulations to Chelsea on winning the Champions League! My dad liked Chelsea growing up, as well as supporting Sunderland, he brought me up to like them too, so I was pretty nervous watching the game last night, I’m not sure how I’d cope if I went to watch Sunderland in a major final! This year was definitely meant to be Chelsea’s year though, the game in Napoli when they lost 3-1 but then won the home leg 4-1, the semi finals against Barcelona, nicking a goal at Stamford Bridge somehow after being battered, and the brilliant 2-2 result at the Camp Nou where 10 man Chelsea were trailing 2-0, and Fernando Torres got the injury time equaliser to seal it. As Gary Neville would say, UNBELIEEEEEEEVVVVVABLEEEEE! Even in the final, Chelsea rode their luck, with Bayern Munich failing to convert some good chances, before Didier Drogba scored the decisive penalty in the shootout to deny Bayern victory on home turf.

Christine Bleakley congratulating her fiance´Frank Lampard. Loving Christine’s Chelsea blue nails, looks like Baker Street! Pictures from Christine’s twitter.

On to my nails! Today I’m wearing another polish from George at ASDA, Shipwrecked. This polish is very similar to OPI’s Fly, from the Nicki Minaj collection, and is a creamy teal shade. The application of this was much better than Smarty Pants too, less streaky, and I only needed two coats.

I’ve also changed the theme on my blog, so please let me know what you think about it 🙂

Smarty Pants

I spotted this on a trip to ASDA Living, I didn’t even know ASDA had their own range of cosmetics! So obviously I couldn’t resist picking up a bottle (or 3!) as they were only £1.75 each.

Smarty Pants is a lovely colour, a creamy mint green, in the bottle it does have a slight shimmer, but this doesn’t really show on the nail.

It was pretty bad application wise though, the same problem I had with OPI’s Pink Friday, the first two coats were very streaky and uneven, but a third coat solved this problem 🙂

As you can see I did chip my index finger, but I didn’t have time to repaint the whole nail, so I just had to fill in it the best I could.

Smarty Pants does remind me of Nails Inc‘s Haymarket, but I can’t compare properly has I don’t have this one.

I’m waiting on UPS again, to bring my new camera (which I’ve had so much hassle trying to get!) and I’ve got my fingers crossed they get here before 4, as I have to go to the opticians soon after that!
