Multi Dazzle

A while ago I discovered a stall at the Metro Centre selling a lot of cheap make up, and a lot of nail polish, mainly W7. I’ve only seen W7 polishes in one other place, Home Bargains (a discount store), and they’ve only ever had a couple of colours, so when I saw them at the Metro I picked up 3 bottles of glitter to try out. This is the first one I’ve tried. Multi Dazzle is multi coloured hex glitter, pink, blue, silver, red, green and gold, in two different sizes, suspended in clear polish and I’m wearing it over Models Own Snow White.

This was two coats of Multi Dazzle, with the odd bald patch filled in. It reminds me of all the fabulous polishes I’ve been seeing on Two Lacquered Girls recently!

Also, if you like Models Own, and haven’t yet taken advantage of their 50% off sale, I suggest you get there quick! I’m still trying (and failing) not to buy too many polishes, but I couldn’t resist 50% off! It also meant I could pick up a couple of early Christmas presents for friends too. The sale ends on October 2nd!

Starburst Nail Art

This is something I found on Buzz Feed, originally from Chloe’s Nails, and I wanted to give it a go. I used Barry M 47 Black, and Barry M’s limited edition silver glitter, and used nail art tape to create the stripes.

I tried a couple of wider strips on my left hand, but I preferred my left hand, which was all thin strips. I love the sparkle under the black, and I’d definitely give this another go, I love simple nail art like this!

I also created my own header for my blog yesterday, I’d love to know what everyone thinks about it 🙂

Purple Sherbet

This month, Marie Claire are giving away Ciate´nail polishes with their magazine, in three shades, Purple Sherbet, Jelly Bean, and Bon Bon. Marie Claire is £3.70, although WHSmith had a 2 for £6 offer on some magazines. Ciate´polishes are usually £9, and there’s also a 25% off discount code in the magazine. I picked up Purple Sherbet and Jelly Bean. Lots of magazine seem to have great freebies this month, Glamour have a choice of 3 benefit products (I got all 3!), and in others I’ve seen Body Shop mascara and eye pencils, Leighton Denny nail polish, Jemma Kidd makeup and even a free Reiss vest, I was very tempted to pick them all up, I think the cashier might have thought I was a bit crazy though!

Purple Sherbet is the first Ciate´polish I’ve tried, although I have been tempted by them for a while, especially their Caviar Manicure, and I’ve seen lots of great reviews. First of all, I love the bottles, the little bow makes them very pretty! The colour is gorgeous too, a lovely creamy lilac, although it was quite sheer, and I needed 3 coats to cover completely.

I decided to add glitter, and created a reverse gradient glitter, using Rimmel’s Disco Ball.

Tomorrow I’m going to Liverpool for a tour of Anfield. Although I’m a Sunderland supporter, I’ve been on a few stadium tours (Camp Nou, Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge) and I love seeing parts of the stadium you don’t usually see on a match day, along with the museum parts and all the silverware! I’m definitely looking forward to touching that famous ‘This is Anfield’ sign on the walk down the tunnel!

Ibiza Mix

Ibiza Mix is another polish from the Model’s Own HedKandi collection, and I love Hedonist so much I left this on as the base. Ibiza Mix is a multi glitter polish with a clear base. There’s hexagonal glitter in gold, teal and violet, and smaller hexagonal glitter in blue, copper and pink. I think there’s a couple of other colours in there too but they’re hard to spot!

I found this polish was quite thick, and it took 3-4 coats to get a good application, I always seemed to get a lot of polish on the brush, and very little glitter.

I think this polish would look great over a light pastel colour, and I’ll definitely be trying that out 🙂

Jubilee

As soon as I saw this on the Nails Inc site I couldn’t wait to get it! Jubilee is a limited edition red, blue and silver glitter polish, with a crystal cap. (I’ve wanted a polish with a crystal cap for ages!) This polish is inspired by the Union Jack, for the Queen’s upcoming Diamond Jubilee. It even came in a British themed box!

One thing I love about Nails Inc glitters, is how thick they are. A lot of glitter polishes are only any good as a top coat, or after 3-4 coats. This covered my nails completely in two coats. It’s made up from some very fine glitter, then larger glitter. It also dried quickly. I’m going out for my birthday tonight, and thought this would be perfect with my black dress!

Razzmatazz

One of the nail polishes I bought when I was in London was Topshop’s Razzmatazz. The base of this polish is lilac, and it’s packed with lilac and holographic glitter, along with larger hexagonal holographic glitter, super sparkly! It’s quite a sheer glitter, this was three coats, but it’d be perfect as a top coat. It was quite hard to get a picture to show how sparkly it was!

Magenta Divine & Disco Heaven

Firstly, I’d like to say my thoughts are with Aston Villa’s Stiliyan Petrov, who has been diagnosed with acute leukaemia. I hope he makes a full and quick recovery.

For my nails this weekend, I’ve gone for a glitter overload (I’ve gone a bit mad for glitters since discovering the foil removal method!), with my new Model’s Own polishes. I haven’t done the contrasting ring finger for a while, so I decided to do that. I chose Magenta Divine, which is a clear polish packed with bold magenta glitter, and hedkandi Disco Heaven for my ring finger, which is also a clear polish, with gold glitter, along with larger blue/green particles of glitter.

As with most glitter polishes, you do end up with quite a ‘bumpy’ feel, but a couple of layers of top coat fixes this 🙂

I also bought a gorgeous pair of Steve Madden shoes yesterday, I nearly talked myself out of them, but a girl can never have too many pairs of shoes right?

I hope everyone has a good weekend, I’m going to Manchester tomorrow for Manchester City v Sunderland. I don’t have too high expectations from this game, but we did manage to beat them at home (even if it was a last minute goal!), but last time we played at City they thumped up 5-0!

Facets of Fuchsia

I picked up Revlon’s Facets of Fuchsia as part of Boots’ 2 for £10 offer, mainly because I had a gift card burning a hole in my purse, and what better to spend it on than more nail polish?!

I’m struggling to decide whether I like this polish or not, but I’m not sure why I don’t like it! I don’t know if its too dark, or not glittery enough compared to how it looks in the bottle, I just can’t put my finger on it.

This is just to show how the polish builds up. It starts very light with one coat, as shown on my index finger, two on my middle finger, three on my ring finger and four on my little finger. I decided to go for four coats as I wanted to try and get a bit more glitter on.

So as I can’t decide how much I like this polish, I’ll leave it at that, and I should have decided by my next post!

And while I was writing this post, Titus Bramble posted this picture of him and some of the other players at Cheltenham, so I’m sharing my love of Phil Bardsley, who is fourth from the right, almost centre of the picture.

Pall Mall & Disco Ball

As expected my ‘Baker Street’ nails didn’t last long, couldn’t wait to try out other new colours! Today I started off with nails inc Pall Mall. This is a very light oyster shell shade, shimmery with a hint of pink. I struggled to capture the shimmer in the colour. It looked ok after two coats, but I felt it needed three for the best coverage.

I also got a chance to try out my new nails inc Kensington caviar base coat and top coat. I wasn’t quite sure if the top coat would be touch dry in 45 seconds as it claimed, but it was, I’m always smudging my nails so this should be very helpful!

Originally I was going to finish off my nails with a gradient glitter on my ring fingers, but I liked it so much that I decided to do all my nails! This is Rimmel’s Lasting Finish in Disco Ball. Disco Ball is a mainly made up of small holographic silver glitter, with larger blue and purple pieces of glitter, and looks great when it catches the light.
