For pastel week I decided to got for a rainbow gradient. I was originally going to do full nail rainbow gradient like I did last year, but instead went for a gradual rainbow across my whole hand.
My gradient tutorial can be found here.
I started off with Models Own White Light HyperGel as a base, then used the entire Ice Cream Sundae collection for the rainbow (Fuzzy Peach, Lemon Meringue, Jaded Stone, Beth’s Blue, Lilac Dream and Pastel Pink) then topped it off with two coats of HK Girl.
This weeks prompt for the BNB Nail Art Challenge is Neon. I struggled with this one as I don’t own many neon polishes, which is why my nails aren’t particularly arty!
I used Models Own Beach Party, White Light HyperGel, and Lush Lacquer (now Polish Me Silly) Clowning Around.
This week, my MacBook decided to break AGAIN. It did exactly the same as it did a few weeks ago, so I was pretty sure it was the hard drive this time. I even took pictures of this weeks nails on my iPhone so I could still get my post done (then replace the pictures when my MacBook was fixed!) So I had a trip to the Apple Store at the Metro Centre, anyone from the same area who has been to the Metro Centre lately will know the current roadworks on the A1 are a nightmare (and are there until 2016!) which meant even though I’d set off earlier than usual, I was still 10 minutes late for my genius appointment. Thankfully they were able to fit me in, a lot of people have been having the same problem with the traffic, where the guy restored and reinstalled everything, and didn’t find anything wrong with my hard drive. I now have a current Time Machine back up, and all those 85,000 folders still to hunt through, so if my HD does end up going, everything is now safe. Make sure you back up guys! Don’t be like me!
Anyway! As I said it my last post, I was struggling with the black and white theme, being a Sunderland supporter, black and white is pretty much forbidden together! I did some searching on Pinterest, and found this great constellation mani by Manicurity. As soon as I saw it, I knew that’s what I wanted to do, and I love the way it turned out.
I used Nails Inc New York Noir, the white Barry M Nail Art Pen, and Sweet Color #124 from Born Pretty.
Week 7 of the BNB Nail Art Challenge, and I’m still managing to keep on track! This weeks prompt was purple.
I decided to go for a sponge gradient (it was originally meant to be purple and blue, but the blue just kind of blended in!) with Barry M’s Prickly Pear Gelly, and OPI Vant to Bite My Neck?
Please excuse the tip wear, I’d had this on two days before I could take some photos!
Next week is going to be hard work for me, I’m going to have to come up with something that isn’t too black and white, as a Sunderland supporter I cannot have black and white nails lol 😀
I’ve really been looking forward to the blue prompt for this challenge! If you’ve followed my blog for a while you’ll probably know I love blue polish.
I went for a look I found on Pinterest, the credit on the photo was @naildecor, but I can’t find a blog or anything to link to!
I used Nails Inc Baker Street for the blue, which is still one of, if not my favourite polishes. Rather than having a white base I decided to use Nails Inc Sao Paolo Streets, which was part of the Brazil inspired trio that were from June’s InStyle magazine, and I used Butter London Fairy Cake for some sparkly holo-y goodness, all topped off with a coat of HK Girl.
Sorry for the picture spam, but I was sat outside in the sun and ended up snapping about 40 pictures on my iPhone, it was just so sparkly!
Make sure you check out the other British Nail Bloggers’ blue nails!
Week 4 of the Colour Me Crazy nail art challenge, green. I’m so impressed with myself that I’ve managed to keep up with this so far and make sure I’m posting regularly too!
The Nailasaurus was my inspiration for this look, and I bravely dug out the striping tape! I very rarely even attempt to use striping tape (or any kind of tape) but striping tape is just so damn fiddly! But I stuck with it, and I was pleasantly surprised when it actually turned out okay! Until I smudged a few bits with top coat, but never mind, I’m counting this as a success!
I used Barry M 2012 Boots Xmas LE, and Nicole by OPI Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam, which is a very dark teal.
Yellow is the third prompt for the British Nail Bloggers Colour Me Crazy nail art challenge.
I got my inspiration for this from Pinterest, although it was done with much brighter colours! I decided to stick with pastels. I used Models Own Lemon Meringue, Beth’s Blue, and Pastel Pink.
I’m really enjoying taking part in this challenge, it’s been nice to try a few new things, and I plan on trying more new stuff as the weeks go on!
Second prompt of the British Nail Bloggers Colour Me Crazy nail art challenge – orange.
I haven’t gone for anything particularly exciting, sticking with plain orange creme – Models Own Fuzzy Peach, with a leopard print accent nail. For the accent nail I used Barry M Nude, Models Own Fuzzy Peach, the black Models Own nail art pen, and topped it off with Nails Inc Electric Lane holo top coat to add some sparkle!
I’m sure the other BNB’s will have come up with something a lot more exciting than me, so make sure you check theirs out!
This week I’ve started a new (and my first!) nail art challenge, set up by the British Nail Bloggers.
The first weeks theme is red, so I decided on some fairly simple Minnie Mouse themed nails.
I used the Models Own Red Lustre and White Light HyperGels, and the black Models Own nail art pen.
Make sure you check out what the other British Nail Bloggers have done for the red theme!
