Born Pretty Barbie Decals

This may be the girliest mani I’ve ever done! These Born Pretty Barbie decals have seven different images, all Barbie pink of course!

I’m a big fan of water decals, they’re simple to use and can create some beautiful nail art. And of course you can even design your own, like I did for the Capital One Cup Final.

I used Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream, and Butter London Fairy Cake, along with a few rhinestones.

Born Pretty Rhinestones

These Born Pretty black and pearly white iridescent rhinestones come in four shapes, tear drop, oval, heart, and plain round rhinestones. They’re very easy to stick on, I just used a wax pencil, and placed them on when my polish was still wet.

I love that rhinestones can easily be used to quickly add some nail art and sparkle to your existing mani too!

OPI You’re So Vain-illa (I did top coat over the rhinestones on this one as I was going to the gym afterwards!)

Barry M Boots 2012 Xmas LE and piCture pOlish Aurora. I LOVE all the colours in the black rhinestones, and I thought they went perfectly with Aurora.

Barry M Poppy Silk

Born Pretty Foil Decoration

Born Pretty’s gold and silver nail art foil comes in 12 individual pots, 6 of each colour, one sheet in each pot. Each sheet is about 2 inches x 2 inches, and is more like gold/silver leaf than foil, it’s a lot thinner than foil.

The foil is very easy to use, (although very fiddly! You have to make sure you breathe in other directions, I had pieces flying everywhere!) so even beginners can create some fantastic nail art.

I tore off small pieces, and used tweezers to place it randomly on my nails, and I also covered the whole of my little finger, simply by placing it over still wet polish, then just folding the edges over and adding top coat.

After this mani, I still had around half of the square left, so it’s very good value!

Colour Me Crazy – Pastel

For pastel week I decided to got for a rainbow gradient. I was originally going to do full nail rainbow gradient like I did last year, but instead went for a gradual rainbow across my whole hand.

My gradient tutorial can be found here

I started off with Models Own White Light HyperGel as a base, then used the entire Ice Cream Sundae collection for the rainbow (Fuzzy Peach, Lemon Meringue, Jaded Stone, Beth’s Blue, Lilac Dream and Pastel Pink) then topped it off with two coats of HK Girl.

Colour Me Crazy – Black & White

This week, my MacBook decided to break AGAIN. It did exactly the same as it did a few weeks ago, so I was pretty sure it was the hard drive this time. I even took pictures of this weeks nails on my iPhone so I could still get my post done (then replace the pictures when my MacBook was fixed!) So I had a trip to the Apple Store at the Metro Centre, anyone from the same area who has been to the Metro Centre lately will know the current roadworks on the A1 are a nightmare (and are there until 2016!) which meant even though I’d set off earlier than usual, I was still 10 minutes late for my genius appointment. Thankfully they were able to fit me in, a lot of people have been having the same problem with the traffic, where the guy restored and reinstalled everything, and didn’t find anything wrong with my hard drive. I now have a current Time Machine back up, and all those 85,000 folders still to hunt through, so if my HD does end up going, everything is now safe. Make sure you back up guys! Don’t be like me!

Anyway! As I said it my last post, I was struggling with the black and white theme, being a Sunderland supporter, black and white is pretty much forbidden together! I did some searching on Pinterest, and found this great constellation mani by Manicurity.  As soon as I saw it, I knew that’s what I wanted to do, and I love the way it turned out.

I used Nails Inc New York Noir, the white Barry M Nail Art Pen, and Sweet Color #124 from Born Pretty.

Colour Me Crazy – Purple

Week 7 of the BNB Nail Art Challenge, and I’m still managing to keep on track! This weeks prompt was purple.

I decided to go for a sponge gradient (it was originally meant to be purple and blue, but the blue just kind of blended in!) with Barry M’s Prickly Pear Gelly, and OPI Vant to Bite My Neck?

Please excuse the tip wear, I’d had this on two days before I could take some photos!

Next week is going to be hard work for me, I’m going to have to come up with something that isn’t too black and white, as a Sunderland supporter I cannot have black and white nails lol 😀

Colour Me Crazy – Pink

Last week I somehow managed to mess up my whole MacBook, which led to the guy at PC World having to recover all of my data, and pretty much restore the whole thing! I was in Edinburgh for the weekend, so he was able to sort it while I was gone (my MacBook is like my baby, it’s never far from me!) Thankfully he was able to recover a lot of stuff, but I now 85,655 folders (yes, 85 THOUSAND!) to go through to re-organise everything!

Luckily, I was able to search for my photos for the pink week, so I didn’t have to search through everything!

For the pink week, I decided to get my loose craft glitter out again. I used Nails Inc Elizabeth Street, and the bubblegum glitter.

Colour Me Crazy – Blue

I’ve really been looking forward to the blue prompt for this challenge! If you’ve followed my blog for a while you’ll probably know I love blue polish.

I went for a look I found on Pinterest, the credit on the photo was @naildecor, but I can’t find a blog or anything to link to!

I used Nails Inc Baker Street for the blue, which is still one of, if not my favourite polishes. Rather than having a white base I decided to use Nails Inc Sao Paolo Streets, which was part of the Brazil inspired trio that were from June’s InStyle magazine, and I used Butter London Fairy Cake for some sparkly holo-y goodness, all topped off with a coat of HK Girl.

Sorry for the picture spam, but I was sat outside in the sun and ended up snapping about 40 pictures on my iPhone, it was just so sparkly!

Make sure you check out the other British Nail Bloggers’ blue nails!

Colour Me Crazy – Green

Week 4 of the Colour Me Crazy nail art challenge, green. I’m so impressed with myself that I’ve managed to keep up with this so far and make sure I’m posting regularly too!

The Nailasaurus was my inspiration for this look, and I bravely dug out the striping tape! I very rarely even attempt to use striping tape (or any kind of tape) but striping tape is just so damn fiddly! But I stuck with it, and I was pleasantly surprised when it actually turned out okay! Until I smudged a few bits with top coat, but never mind, I’m counting this as a success!

I used Barry M 2012 Boots Xmas LE, and Nicole by OPI Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam, which is a very dark teal.
