So yesterday, I couldn’t decide whether I liked my nail polish or not. I did start to like it a bit more, but felt it was a little dark, so I decided to repaint with something brighter.
I also discovered the foil method of removing glitter nail polish. Best. Thing. Ever. So easy and saved a lot of scrubbing time!
There was a little bit of glitter left on, but this was easily removed (excuse the terrible condition of my nails!) I’m very happy that I found this method, so I can wear more glitter polishes without worrying about the hassle of removing it!
Kensington Park Road is the last from my recent nails inc purchases, and is a gorgeous bright cyan, with a lovely glossy finish. Like all nails inc polishes I found this went on really nicely, and I only needed two coats to cover my nails.
This shade is very similar (if not identical) to Barry M’s 294 Cyan Blue. Barry M’s may just be slightly darker. Although for the price, Barry M Would have to be the winner!
I also had a couple of bets on the Cheltenham festival today, managed to win £24 from two £1 bets! I’m quite pleased with this considering I pick horses on the colour that the jockey is wearing, or the name of the horse! I’m going into town tomorrow so I might have to see what nail polishes are around! There’s a couple of Topshop ones I love but our Topshop doesn’t have any of the makeup range. Boo 🙁 and I hate paying ridiculous amounts for P&P on nail polish!
I picked up Revlon’s Facets of Fuchsia as part of Boots’ 2 for £10 offer, mainly because I had a gift card burning a hole in my purse, and what better to spend it on than more nail polish?!
I’m struggling to decide whether I like this polish or not, but I’m not sure why I don’t like it! I don’t know if its too dark, or not glittery enough compared to how it looks in the bottle, I just can’t put my finger on it.
This is just to show how the polish builds up. It starts very light with one coat, as shown on my index finger, two on my middle finger, three on my ring finger and four on my little finger. I decided to go for four coats as I wanted to try and get a bit more glitter on.
So as I can’t decide how much I like this polish, I’ll leave it at that, and I should have decided by my next post!
And while I was writing this post, Titus Bramble posted this picture of him and some of the other players at Cheltenham, so I’m sharing my love of Phil Bardsley, who is fourth from the right, almost centre of the picture.
Today I was at the Sunderland game against Liverpool. Sunderland won 1-0! Before the game I’d have been happy with a draw, although I’m even happier with the win and taking all three points! We definitely got lucky with the goal though, a shot from Fraizer Campbell which hit the post, bounced off the back of Pepe Reina’s head and hitting the post again before Nicklas Bendter knocked it in!
We play Everton next weekend in the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup, 90 minutes (although 180 if there’s a replay) from going to Wembley, not often that chance comes around for a Sunderland supporter!
Onto my nails!
I loved how I’ve had my nails for the last couple of days but I still have new colours that I haven’t tried out yet. I’d also appreciate any tips on removing glitter polish. I thought it might have been easier over another polish, but no! So please share your glitter removing tips with me!
Today I went for nails inc’s Chinatown, which is a hot pink. It also has a purple shimmer to it (one of the reasons I decided to buy it, as it made it different from all my other pinks). This polish went on really nicely, and only needed two coats. It also has a lovely glossy finish to it. But once again I’m going to say now amazing I think nails inc’s 45 second top coat is!
I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!
As expected my ‘Baker Street’ nails didn’t last long, couldn’t wait to try out other new colours! Today I started off with nails inc Pall Mall. This is a very light oyster shell shade, shimmery with a hint of pink. I struggled to capture the shimmer in the colour. It looked ok after two coats, but I felt it needed three for the best coverage.
I also got a chance to try out my new nails inc Kensington caviar base coat and top coat. I wasn’t quite sure if the top coat would be touch dry in 45 seconds as it claimed, but it was, I’m always smudging my nails so this should be very helpful!
Originally I was going to finish off my nails with a gradient glitter on my ring fingers, but I liked it so much that I decided to do all my nails! This is Rimmel’s Lasting Finish in Disco Ball. Disco Ball is a mainly made up of small holographic silver glitter, with larger blue and purple pieces of glitter, and looks great when it catches the light.
Welcome to my blog. Here you’ll mainly find me talking about my nail polish addiction (my current stash stands at 116!), along with my obsession with shoes, cupcakes and football, so a very random mixture of things that I love!
This is my current collection of polish –
Anyway, hope you enjoy my blog!
