Permanganate is a thermal polish, part of the Transition Elements collection, by Polished by KPT. Every time I look at the name I think of the ERMAHGERD meme! Permanganate is a purple/blue when cold, and a shimmery silver when warm.
My pictures show three coats, with one coat of HK Girl, as it had a slightly matte finish.
This was the first piCture pOlish I bought from Rainbow Connection a couple of months ago. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ll probably know that I love blues, and I’m not a big fan of reds, so I surprised myself a little when I decided to order Monroe! But I’m so glad I did!
Monroe is a deep blood red jelly base, with a scattered holo, and I bloody love it!
My pictures show three coats, with no top coat.
I’ve absolutely loves the 4 piCture pOlish’s I’ve tried so far, and definitely wouldn’t hesitate to try more, there’s some amazing colours!
Gravity is the last of the three LE piCture pOlish’s I got from Rainbow Connection last week (although I’m tempted by Illusionist!)
Gravity shifts between purple and blue, with some holographic shimmer and glitter.
Like Aurora and Borealis, I wore two coats of Gravity over two coats of Nails Inc New York Noir.
You can’t possibly get Aurora without getting Borealis too, right? Borealis is another of the piCture pOlish LE shades, and was limited to 400 bottles. I was lucky enough to grab one when they went on sale on Rainbow Connection, with a lot of refreshing pages, I managed to get the 3 shades I wanted within about 30 seconds!
Borealis shifts between blue, purple, bronze and a hint of pink (and was very hard to photograph!)
My pictures show two coats over two coats of Nails Inc New York Noir, with no top coat.
What better way to get back into the swing of blogging with some stunning Limited Edition piCture pOlish? Last week, Rainbow Connection had a restock of the LE shades, and also launched Borealis (coming soon!) I missed out on these last time, and when I saw swatches I instantly regretted it, so when I heard about the restock I was sat refreshing for more news all the time!
Aurora is stunning. Like the bottle says, WOWZA! Aurora is a glitter that shifts between pink, purple, blue and green.
I wore two coats of Aurora over two coats of Nails Inc New York Noir, with no top coat.
Have you tried any of the piCture pOlish LE shades?
I absolutely love the Polished by KPT thermals, and Being In The Pink is my favourite so far! I love that it transitions between two completely different colours, compared to the others that I own (other than Blood As Thick As Gold which I’m yet to swatch.)
Being In The Pink has a scattered holo, and when warm is a hot pink, changing to a deep purple when cold. The formula was a little thick, so I used a few drops of polish thinner, but I’d much rather a polish was too thick than too thin! I particularly loved this polish when washing my hands in places (if they had no hot water!) because then the heat of the warm hand dryers made some pretty patterns on my nails whilst my hands were drying! (I’m very easily amused!) My pictures show three coats with one coat of HK Girl.
Polished by KPT is available at Rainbow Connection.
Hello everyone, I’m back!
I was originally going to get back to blogging a couple of weeks ago, but I broke one of my nails, so I wanted to let it grow a little. I also got a new light box! So over the last few days I’ve been swatching like crazy, trying to get caught up with all the new polish I have!
First up, Polished By KPT – Life In Pink, which is a limited edition polish, inspired by two October birthstones, pink tourmaline (when cold) and opal (when warm.) When warm, the colour is very sheer, so I wore two coats over two coats of Barry M Nude, followed by a coat of HK Girl.
This was one of the polishes I was most excited about when Rainbow Connection launched. Unfortunately I wasn’t quick enough the first time round before it sold out, but I managed to get my hands on it when it was restocked.
Have A Killer Day is from Cadillacquer’s Dexter collection, and I LOVE it. It has a light greyish blue base, with blue microflakes giving it a gorgeous blue shimmer, neon pink squares, small matte purple hex glitter and matt pink hex glitter. I love the contrast between the light base and the neon pink. I used three coats, with two coats of HK Girl.
Yesterday I posted my derby day nails, and mentioned that I expected us to be hammered by Newcastle. The players decided to prove me wrong and won 2-1! It’s only October, but we’ve had a pretty abysmal season so far, having only won one point from eight games, so when it came to the derby, I’d pretty much accepted defeat before the game even started. At least that way, I’d avoided a week of sleepless nights and pre match nerves! Supporting Sunderland really can drive you crazy at times with all the ups and (mainly) downs, but days like yesterday (and the game back in April) really do make all the heartache seem worth it.
Sunderland went 1-0 up just 5 minutes into the game, with a close range header from Steven Fletcher. Newcastle equalised just before the hour mark when Debuchy bundled the ball past Keiren Westwood from close range. Then the magic moment. 84th minute. Free kick taken quickly by Steven Fletcher inside his own half, passed to Ki, forward to Jack Colback who found Altidore, quick pass to Fabio Borini, who then found the top corner of the net with an absolute screamer!
John O’Shea then decided to provide us with a last minute heart stopping moment with a dodgy back header which nearly went over the top of Westwood, but he just managed to back peddle in time!
Anyway, on to my nails for anyone who comes here to see them, rather than read about football!
Kelvin Bleu was one of the Polished by KPT polishes I’d pre-ordered from Rainbow Connection, and it was the one I was most looking forward to getting. Kelvin Bleu is a thermal polish, with a scattered holo, that is light blue when warm, and a gorgeous deep blue when cold. I used three coats, with one coat of HK Girl. Unfortunately my camera struggled to pick up the warm colour, so the best ones I have are couple of poor photos that I snapped with my iPhone.
A few weeks ago Rainbow Connection had a pre-order for Polished by KPT, and this was one of the three I snapped up straight away. Plumeria is a gorgeous scattered holographic polish that shifts from clear to magenta. I had a lot of fun watching this polish change! I used three coats, with no topcoat.
Have you tried any Polished by KPT? Do you like thermal polish?
